Still waiting for that appointment with a sport medicine doctor? Call us.
Dr. Melanson is in our Sport Medicine Clinic on Tuesday mornings. We’ll get you in to see her. No referral necessary.
Tired of hurting?
Nagging chronic pain? Body refusing to move like it used to? Aching to get back to doing the things you love?
Our physiotherapists are trained and certified in Gray Cook’s medical movement assessment. If your physiotherapist isn’t SFMA™ certified, they probably can’t answer the million dollar question: Are you suffering from a) a mobility problem or b) a motor control problem? The answer determines the therapeutic strategy and no amount of therapeutic intervention will hold if the treatment is off target. We think the SFMA™ is one of the reasons we’ve seen so many happy endings.
Busy? Tired? Stressed?
Food has a profound effect on productivity, energy levels, focus, and concentration – and when we get busy, tired, or stressed – eating well is usually the first thing we abandon. Canada’s National Track Cycling team is just one of our clients who enjoy the benefits of the practical and easy nutritional strategy designed by Natasha, our International Olympic Committee accredited Sports and Performance Dietitian, and so can you!
Sharpen Your Performance
Not every path takes you to the top but when you find the right path, take it!
If you don’t like how that little white ball takes flight, we can help you. We have two health professionals, TPI Medical Certified to assess your swing movement and develop a program that will stop the gremlins from playing havoc with your golf swing.
The Functional Movement Screen™ systematically reveals the limitations and restrictions that are impeding your ability to move as your sport needs you to. Eric will test your mobility and stability, translate the results and develop your program of corrective exercises. You put in the time, effort and stick-to-it-ness that got you this far into the FMS™ and prepare to leave your personal-best in the dust.
You think you’re covering your bases – but are you really? How much fluid should you be consuming before training? During training? After training? Are you consuming the best fluids or the best-advertised fluids? Should you be eating carbs or protein before the big game? When and how much should you eat? Proper performance nutrition reduces cramping, muscle fatigue and headaches, and significantly improves recovery time from training and/or injury. You have a big tournament coming up? 4 games in 3 days? Now, what do you do?
Performance nutrition can be the difference between winning and losing.
Our registered dietitian is one of the world’s elite group of International Olympic Committee accredited Sport and Performance Dietitians. The nutritional strategies that she develops for her elite athletes, NHL clients, the Canadian National Track Cycling team and our local athletes are practical, easy to follow and game-changing. She often travels to her client’s but if that’s impossible, then she can work with you using Skype or Facetime.
Put Natasha on your team.
Every person brings us a different puzzle. Sometimes it’s easy to solve, but when the puzzle is complex we draw upon the depth and breadth of talent within our clinic.
When there’s a tangled web of symptoms for us to unravel we really start to shine. More than one athlete has benefited from the teamwork of our physiotherapists and our sport & performance dietitian. Just like in sports, the team is stronger than the individual.
Collaboration. That’s Serge’s vision and we’re all on board.
