How long have you been working as a Physiotherapist? I started my career working part-time in two different clinics in Halifax after my graduation from Dalhousie with my Master’s in Physiotherapy in 2011. Once a full-time position became available in Fredericton I moved and continued my career in Fredericton.
And you moved from your hometown of Fredericton to work at Sportmed… I’d heard so many great things about Sportmed and their approach to uncovering the underlying cause of mobility issues. I knew that it was the right place to stretch myself professionally.
Do you have an area of specialty? I’ve taken extra training in Vestibular Rehabilitation so that I can help people suffering from vertigo, dizziness, concussions, inner ear problems. It’s a branch of physiotherapy that is less known as others however it is becoming increasingly recognized as being extremely important for the treatment and health of patients who suffer from its symptoms.
How do you spend your spare time? I love doing anything that’s active whether it’s just for fun or competitive. I grew up playing soccer and volleyball. I played competitive volleyball throughout high school and played for Team NB during the summer. I still play volleyball, run, snowboard and hike.
And I love to travel!! I’m always looking for the next adventure. It would be my dream to travel the world and experience as many cultures and countries as possible.
What do you like to do to unwind? I like to run – It’s my stress reliever. I also like to read curled up with a blanket and a large cup of coffee.
And now a really important question! What’s your a favourite colour? I can’t play favourites, it’s not fair to choose just one! If I absolutely had to make a decision I would pick pink or blue or purple. See? I can’t just pick one (laughing).
