Meet Julie Pepin
How long have you been working as a Physiotherapist?
“After graduating with my Master’s of Physiotherapy from Dalhousie in 2011, I stayed in Halifax and worked part-time in two different clinics. When a full-time position became available in Fredericton I moved back to my home city to establish my career there. ”
And you’ve just made the move from your hometown of Fredericton to work at Sportmed?
“I’ve heard so many great things about Sportmed and their approach to uncovering the underlying cause of mobility issues.I knew that this was the right place to come to stretch myself professionally. As soon as I heard that a position was about to open up here, I called Serge.
Do you have a specialty?
“I’ve taken extra training in Vestibular Rehabilitation. It’s a branch of physiotherapy that is less known as others however it is becoming increasingly recognized as being extremely valuable for the treatment and health of patients who suffer from vertigo, dizziness, concussions, inner ear problems.”
How do you spend your spare time?
“I love doing anything that’s active whether it’s just for fun or competitive. I grew up playing soccer and volleyball. I played competitive volleyball throughout high school and played for Team NB during the summer. I still play volleyball, run, snowboard and hike. And I love to travel!! I’m always looking for the next adventure. It would be my dream to travel the world and experience as many cultures and countries as possible.”
How would you sum up your philosophy on life?
“I think my two favourite quotes do it best:
I’ve learned that people will forget what you have said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. ~ Maya Angelou
Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light. ~ Albus Dumbledore
